Pizza Board

Pizza Board

If I had to choose just one thing to eat forever, it would undoubtedly be pizza! It's versatile, with endless topping possibilities—from breakfast delights to decadent desserts. We're always whipping up pizzas in our kitchen. But you know what's even better? No more debates over slice sizes!

We've made a pizza board with pre-made grooves, ensuring every slice is perfectly equal (as long as the pizza is perfectly round and placed in the middle of the board). And here's the kicker: flip the board, and it transforms into a charcuterie board for all your culinary adventures!

Process:

  1. Cut
At it's core the pizza board is an octagon, so we first cut out the containing square, and then cut out three corners which we use for our Key hooks.
  2. Drill Handle
We didn't want there to be a big handle that took up space, so we drilled a thumb hole to make it easy to carry.
  3. Chamfer
We applied our signature asymmetric chamfer to the board and thumb hole
  4. Route
The grooves for the pizza cutter are a tricky part of the process. We set up a fence to guide the router and made sure to align the grooves equally.
  5. Finish
We finished the board with food safe Linseed Oil
  6. Etch
What MelonPickle project would be complete without a pun, so we etched a pun where it can be seen even when your favourite pizza is on the board.

Using our pizza board has been an absolute delight, inspiring us to craft homemade pizzas instead of ordering in. Plus, its clever design ensures it stays put no matter how it's leaned against a wall or shelf, solving a pesky problem we had with our old cutting board.
